AMC was quick to renew their hit TV series, The Walking Dead for a third season after the Season 2 premiere broke cable ratings records last October. In the first half of the second season last year, the show continued to maintain the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history against Adults 18-49, and will probably continue to do so when the season picks back up on Sunday, February 12th.
Even so, most viewers probably assumed that next season would get an order for 13 episodes just like Season 2 did, as 12-13 episodes is the typical amount for a normal cable TV series. But that is not the case for Season 3 of The Walking Dead, as AMC announced yesterday via their official blog that they have ordered 16 episodes for next season!
Hit the jump to get a sneak peek of the next episode of Season 2, and head on over to AMC to read the full announcement!

Ever since it was first announced way back in 2005 at the Star Wars Celebration III Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Star Wars Live-Action series has become the most anticipated project from Lucasfilm that almost seems like it will never see the light of day.
We know that 50 scripts have been written for the show, that it takes place between Episodes III and IV of the film series, and that it will deal with minor characters from the films and/or characters we’ve never seen before. It has also been mentioned in the past that Boba Fett, the infamous bounty hunter who captured Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back, will be a part of it. However, the show is currently delayed because George Lucas and producer Rick McCallum are waiting until it becomes affordable to produce TV episodes that hold their own against the epic visual scale of the feature films.
It has been a while since we last had an update, but this week McCallum has been commenting on the status of the series while promoting his upcoming film, Red Tails, with both IGN and Entertainment Weekly, discussing the working title of the series, the difficultly of producing it, and even some vague plot details. Read on to watch IGN‘s incredibly interesting interview, and for snippets from the EW article!

Ever since the prologue for The Dark Knight Rises premiered with select IMAX screenings of Misson: Impossible – Ghost Protocol last month, the voice of Bane (one of the main villains in the film) has become a huge controversial subject around the world, as many complained that his dialogue was incredibly difficult to understand because of the mask he wears in the film. The same happened with the second trailer for the film (although fans were not as vocal about it because there is really only one line of Bane dialogue in the trailer to analyze). As of right now, sources claim director Christopher Nolan is happy with Bane’s dialogue the way it is and only plans to alter the sound slightly.
To poke fun at all the controversy, Conan O’Brien decided to create a spoof of the trailer on his TBS show, Conan, making fun of Bane’s dialogue. The spoof aired last night, and while not nearly as hilarious as some of his comic material, it just might get a chuckle or two out of you. Hit the jump to watch!

Last week saw the debut of the trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, which, of course, has fans going absolutely crazy to not only finally see Scott return to the same universe first seen in his 1979 film, Alien, but to science fiction film making in general. The trailer even has the title slowly forming on screen just like in the original Alien teaser, letting us know that we’re officially going back to the universe Ridley Scott created all those years ago.
In a similar gesture, a fan made trailer for the original Alien has emerged online that sort of celebrates the new trailer for Prometheus by showing us what it would be like if the original Alien teaser was edited together in the same way the new Prometheus trailer was. It is simply a cool video that connects Alien with Prometheus in a creative way that seemed worth posting, so hit the jump to watch!

The first “teaser” trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey that just debuted this week has got everyone hyped up and anticipating a return to Middle Earth next December. Well, now fans have something to get them even more excited, because Peter Jackson’s latest production video has just debuted online!
In the video, Jackson goes into detail about the logistics of filming on location in New Zealand, which, by the way, is simply mind-blowing when you see just how much work goes into making it all happen. It also goes a bit into how they’ve reconstructed Hobbiton as a permanent tourist attraction, which is just too cool for words. As soon as it is available, the video will be posted here. But for now, you can head on over to Peter Jackson’s Facebook page to watch!
Update: The video is now available to watch after the jump!

You have to hand it to the Underworld franchise. When the first one came out in 2003, I enjoyed it well enough for what it was, but never thought it had the potential to spawn three more films. The action was pretty awesome, but the plot and characters weren’t anything to write home about. Nevertheless, every three years a new film came out, and admittedly the story proved to become more and more interesting the further we delved into the Underworld universe. They’re still nothing phenomenal, but they really are true popcorn movies at their best, and that’s nothing to be ashamed about – especially since the franchise continues to show no signs of fading away.
Since the fourth film in the series, Underworld: Awakening, is coming out very soon (January 20th), two more trailers for the film have debuted online. One trailer, titled “Legacy,” is more of a recap of the history of Kate Beckinsale’s character, Selene, and the war between vampires and lycans. The other trailer focuses more on the vampire/lycan hybrid child, Eve, and what her role is in the war. Both showcase plenty of action, so hit the jump to check them out!

The trailers just don’t stop, do they? Well, at least not during the holiday season anyway.
After seeing the first trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit, any trailer that premieres right afterward sure has quite a bit to compete against. However, Ridley Scott’s long-awaited return to science fiction film-making is a pretty big deal as well, so what better act to follow The Hobbit trailer than a teaser for Prometheus – Scott’s “kinda-sorta” prequel to his original 1979 Alien film? It just popped up online over at Apple today, following a series of 30-second behind the scenes clips that were released over the last few days. Hit the jump to watch the teaser and the clips!

Tons of trailers have been popping up online in the past couple of weeks, whetting our appetites for some of the most anticipated movie releases of 2012 – including films like Men in Black III, John Carter, The Expendables 2, and, of course, The Dark Knight Rises. Now, while The Dark Knight Rises certainly tops that list, in my opinion it doesn’t hold a candle to the first trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – Part 1 of Peter Jackson’s epic two-part film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved story.
Yes, the trailer just debuted late last night online, which means you can now finally get your first look at Bilbo, Gandalf and the dwarves as they begin their quest across Middle Earth to defeat Smaug the dragon and reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor! This is not just a teaser either, and believe me when I say that this is truly the movie trailer to end all trailers. Hit the jump to check it out!

Back in August, actor Bruce Campbell revealed that he would be making a cameo in Sam Raimi’s upcoming Wizard of Oz prequel, Oz the Great and Powerful, continuing a longstanding tradition of Campbell making cameos in Sam Raimi films. However, just last month Campbell tweeted that a decision had been made to not film his cameo.
But fear not, Campbell fans, as it appears Raimi has had a change of heart. Just a couple of days ago, Campbell revealed to The Shiznit that he will indeed be in the film after all, and that his scene has already been shot! Read on for more info!

The time has come. You can forget that lame bootleg trailer with the horrible picture and sound that made its way online a few days ago, because the full theatrical trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises has finally hit the web! This one showcases a bit more action than in the previous teaser released last July, and gives us plenty of Bane, Selina Kyle (Catwoman), and, of course, Batman to feast our eyes upon – making us all the more impatient to see the film next year. Without going into too much detail, let’s just say it has all you could want from a trailer for one of the most anticipated films of 2012, and you should just hit the jump to watch it immediately.
