Last December, PCM posted the first trailer for TNT‘s Falling Skies, a new sci-fi alien invasion series executive produced by Steven Spielberg (who else?) about a former college professor (Noah Wyle) who becomes the leader of a group of soldiers and civilians who fight for their survival against an occupying alien force.
A new trailer/featurette has been released that shows us more of the look and feel of the show, and also reveals a bit more about the story and characters. If you ask me, so far it feels very much like AMC’s The Walking Dead, but on a larger scale and, of course, with aliens instead of zombies. You can watch the featurette after the jump!

Way back in February of last year, PCM reported that Lakeshore Entertainment had green-lit a film adaptation of the Darkstorm Studios graphic novel I, Frankenstein – a film-noir story created by Kevin Grevioux (Underworld) about Frankenstein’s Monster working as a private investigator in the city of “Darkhaven,” standing between humans and an uprising of supernatural creatures determined to overthrow the world. It was also originally stated in an official press release that Patrick Tatopoulos (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans) was set to direct.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Stuart Beattie – primarily known for co-writing such films as 30 Days of Night and the Pirates of the Caribbean films – has been chosen to write and direct the film. No word was given on why a new director was chosen, but tentatively the plan is for Beattie and company to start shooting the film this fall! If you have not yet taken a peek at the cover art for the graphic novel, hit the jump to check it out!

AICN posted a video interview with Gary Oldman that they found from Absolute Radio where Oldman speaks cryptically about The Dark Knight Rises – discussing briefly how the writers have brought the story full circle and how the ending of the film is not actually in the script (although they know what it is)! I could keep telling you more about the interview, including what he says about actor Tom Hardy‘s role (who plays Bane in the film), but you probably would rather just watch the video, right? Check it out below!
