TNT has debuted the first trailer for their new alien invasion TV series, Falling Skies, premiering next June. The series stars Noah Wyle (TNT‘s The Librarian, ER) who, according to the official plot synopsis, plays “a former college professor who becomes the leader of a group of soldiers and civilians struggling against an occupying alien force.”

Being that the series is a Dreamworks Television production executive produced by Steven Spielberg, you might want to take a peek. Hit the jump to watch!

Looks like aliens are officially making a comeback both in TV and film. The V series remake, Men in Black 3, Cowboys & Aliens and Super 8 are just a few of many projects (along with Falling Skies) already happening, and more are sure to be on the way. Even Roland Emmerich has talked about two sequels to 1996’s Independence Day! It’s not really all that surprising, since aliens were all the rage back in the 90s, and District 9 helped revive the genre last year.

Look for Falling Skies next June on TNT!
