Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

While this post arrives a bit late due to my current busy vacation schedule, my love for “old dark house” Gothic horror movies made it impossible to skip out on posting the new full-length trailer for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, co-written/produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Troy Nixey. Christopher Lee

Christopher Lee, Guinness book world record holder for acting in more films than any other actor in history (266 to be exact), turns 89 today. Modern film fans know him for playing Saruman in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequels, but his film career goes back all the way to the late 1940s. Most will say that his most famous role of all time is that of Count Dracula, whom he first played in Horror of Dracula in 1958 as well as the many Dracula films that followed from Hammer Film Productions.

In honor of his birthday, the Official Christopher Lee website posted a three-part Forbes interview with Lee discussing his web site, new media and how it has affected the entertainment industry. Just listening to the man talk is incredibly intriguing, and even comforting. Hit the jump to watch the entire Forbes interview as well as a vintage movie trailer for Horror of Dracula!

But, as you all know, his latest film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, was in fact shot in 3-D. So what exactly did Paramount Pictures do to convince Bay to use the technology for the film? Apparently, they went to Avatar director and 3-D guru James Cameron for assistance.

On May 18th, The Hollywood Reporter and Paramount hosted an event moderated by THR‘s Jay A. Fernandez where both James Cameron and Michael Bay sat down for the first time to discuss 3-D and its use in the new Transformers film. As of yesterday, a full 16-minutes of the interview has made its way online for all to see, and you can check it out after the jump!
