To ring in the new decade, I thought it would be cool to take a look back at the last decade and briefly reflect on my favorite geek films of the last ten years. This list mostly consists of comic book, sci-fi and fantasy films, although one of them isn’t exactly any of those (you’ll know why it is included when you see what it is).
So, without further ado, here is my top 10 list of what I feel are the best geek films of the last decade (2000-2009).

The Young Victoria, starring Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, The Wolfman), has had quite a bit of buzz surrounding it lately. It had a limited release a couple of weeks ago, and expanded to 150 more theaters across the US last Friday. Blunt has already received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress for her role as the young queen. Sounds like this film is shaping up to be the one to see as far as period pieces go.

A new viral “mash up” video made by Rebel Christmas Card called “Jack Bauer Interrogates Santa Claus” has hit the web. Claus is accused of being an international terrorist and is interrogated by Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland)- the main character of the hit TV series 24. As a fan of the show, this video made my day. Last Week, Sigourney Weaver commented on Ghostbusters 3 to Channel 4 News (UK), and it has stirred quite a lot of speculation on the web, particularly her comments on Bill Murray’s role in the film.
