After the success of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot last year, everyone wants to know about the sequel. No one knows anything about the sequel’s storyline as of yet, however, we do have a scheduled release date! Read on to find out the stardate!

According to ComingSoon.net, J.J. Abrams’ untitled sequel to Star Trek is scheduled to be released on June 29, 2012. So those of you expecting a 2011 release date like many have speculated might be a little let down. But hopefully this means that enough time will be allowed for them to come up with a great storyline worthy of the first film.

I personally loved the new Trek and this is good news to me. Sure, it is possible to come up with a great film in two years time. After all, Spider-Man 2 came out only two years after Spider-Man and it was a superior movie. But normally, when a sequel is given enough time to evolve, we end up with a better film. I hate it when studios try to rush out a sequel to make a quick buck.
