A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Limited Extended Edition Blu-ray set was finally being released, but no release date was announced. Today, via Warner Brothers and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Facebook page, the date was revealed to be June 28th! Hit the jump to watch a cool new trailer for the release!

So, a couple of days ago, it was officially confirmed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play a role in The Dark Knight Rises. Variety (a highly reputable source) updated their report, saying that he’ll be playing Alberto Falcone, son of Carmine “The Roman” Falcone from Batman Begins.
However, EW.com is now reporting that, while he is indeed confirmed for the film, recent reports claiming he’ll be playing Alberto Falcone are FALSE.
So which report is accurate? Only an official announcement from Warner Brothers can answer that. In the meantime, it looks like speculation can continue. If you want my opinion, I really still hope he’ll be playing Falcone, but I am sure that he’ll be good no matter what the role is. Stay tuned as more details emerge…

Walt Disney Pictures has released a new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides through Yahoo! Movies. The trailer touches more upon the actual plot than the last trailer did, focusing heavily on all of the characters (good and bad) and their search for the Fountain of Youth. WRB.com (World Robot Boxing), a viral website for the upcoming movie Real Steel, went live yesterday. As a part of the Dreamworks marketing campaign, the site requires secret codes to unlock its hidden special features.
Thanks to Genre Addict, those of us who don’t want to go through all of that don’t have to, as they have unlocked the features and posted them on their site for our viewing pleasure. They showcase a couple of extremely brief, but pretty cool video clips of robots from the movie, which you can view here after the jump!

Once again, ABC Family is airing Harry Potter movies – this time during their Harry Potter Weekend Event, which started yesterday.
Throughout the course of the event, ABC Family will be airing behind-the-scenes featurettes for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. The first featurette already aired during Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone last night, but in case you missed it, you can watch it after the jump!

Those who have been following the news regarding Zack Snyder‘s Superman reboot know that Henry Cavill has been cast as Clark Kent/Superman, Diane Lane as Martha Kent (Clark’s adoptive mother) and that a rumor has been floating around for the last couple of weeks that Kevin Costner might play Clark’s adoptive father, Jonathan Kent.
In an official press release issued today, Warner Brothers has now confirmed Costner‘s role in the film! Read on for details.

Now who doesn’t love a good Star Wars parody? If one pays attention, references to the beloved sci-fi/fantasy franchise are scattered all throughout pop culture, including the upcoming movie, Paul – the latest film starring comedy duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost of Shaun of the Dead fame.
