Even though Mirror, Mirror has yet to make its way into theaters, I think it is already safe to say that Snow White and the Hunstman is the Snow White film we are all really looking forward to this year (okay, I know, kids will love Mirror, Mirror). This particular retelling of the classic tale does not appear to have the light-hearted, comedic tone that Mirror, Mirror has, but rather a darker, more epic feel on the scale of The Lord of the Rings films, which I’m sure will sit much better with adult audiences.
While the first trailer set the stage for what to expect with the film, this new trailer gives us more of the story, shows off more of the acting from the main cast (Charlize Theron appears to be quite exceptional), and visually lets us know that we have no reason to expect anything less than monumental with its special effects and action sequences. It will most likely never be the next Lord of the Rings (go see The Hobbit this December for that), but it appears to have some serious potential – despite Snow White being played by Twilight’s Kristen Stewart. And hey, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is in it! Hit the jump to watch this incredible trailer!

If you thought the teaser that debuted this past December for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus was jaw-dropping, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. The new full trailer – for what I like to call the “kinda-sorta” prequel to Scott’s original 1979 Alien film – has finally made its way online today, and it does not disappoint. Not only does it do a great job at convincing us that this film will be everything fans of the Alien franchise have been hoping for, but it also shows that this film truly has the potential to be the summer film to end all summer films this year. To put it bluntly, it looks epic… and terrifying. Hit the jump to watch!

After hearing about the film for quite a while now, and seeing various images pop up online, Apple has finally debuted the first trailer for director Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows a mere two and a half months before the film’s release on May 11th. The film, based on the hit gothic horror soap opera that aired from 1966-1971, stars Johnny Depp (who else?) as the vampire Barnabas Collins, originally played by actor Johnathan Frid in the TV series.
The original show featured werewolves, ghosts, witches, warlocks, zombies, and other supernatural elements, which helped it gain quite the cult following over the years. Judging from the trailer for Tim Burton’s feature film adaptation, Burton seems to be going for more of a comedic tone, which is somewhat odd because the original TV series, while campy by today’s standards, certainly wasn’t considered a comedy. Hit the jump to watch the trailer and see what you think.

Ever since I was nine years old and first saw Back to the Future Part II in the theater, the one thing I wanted (and every other kid my age wanted) more than anything was a real hoverboard like the one Marty McFly rides in the film. I completely believed at the time that it was a real possibility we’d have them by 2015. Well, the year 2015 is less than three years away now, and we’re still waiting on Mattel to invent that hover technology so that we can all air skate.
However, last month Mattel announced that they are in fact actually producing a movie accurate prop replica of the hoverboard, which is officially available for pre-order now through March 20th for $120.00. It is 1:1 replica that, while unable to actually “hover,” does in fact glide over most smooth surfaces and makes the actual sounds the hoverboard makes in the film. It is probably the closest thing we’ll ever get to the real thing, and it really does look amazing, so you might want to cough up the dough for this purchase now. Of course, the running joke from Mattel right now is that we’ll just have to wait until 2015 for one that actually hovers…
A new video has been released which goes over every detail regarding this amazing replica, and you can watch it below!

Men in Black III has been through quite a bit in the last year with scheduling delays and script rewrites, and the teaser trailer released this past December seemed to indicate that the film may have suffered a bit from all of it. However, it was only a teaser, and didn’t really give us a good look at the film.
Today, the first full theatrical trailer has debuted online, and it definitely makes the film look a bit better. As someone who found the first two MIB films to be quite uniquely entertaining (albeit a bit too wacky, even for my taste), my hopes have been raised after watching this trailer. The movie looks like it will sit alongside the first two quite well and simply provide audiences with some good ol’ fashioned summer popcorn movie entertainment. Hit the jump to watch!

Last year marked the long-awaited release of George Lucas’ six Star Wars films on Blu-ray. Now, Lucas’ other hit franchise will be making its way to the blu-ray format in The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection, featuring all four Steven Spielberg-directed films presented in high definition picture and sound. Also included with the release will be a “best of” collection of documentaries, interviews and featurettes (presumably from The Adventures of Indiana Jones DVD set), as well as “a few new surprises,” according to the official press release. Hit the jump to watch a trailer for the blu-ray set!

Marvel has a lot riding on the success of their latest comic book film adaptation, The Avengers – not in terms of box office results (we all know it’ll make loads of cash), but rather in the execution of the story and its characters. They have done a great job with Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America in their own individual films, but how well will they work together in one film? Can it ever live up to the hype surrounding it, considering that this is the film that all the other Marvel films (excluding the X-Men films) have been building up to since 2008?
The latest trailer for The Avengers definitely shows us that it has the potential to deliver in these areas, as well as the action and special effects aspects of a typical blockbuster. Most of all, it looks like it’ll be incredibly fun to watch, which is probably just as important as getting the story and characters right. Hit the jump to check it out!

One of the most anticipated movies of 2012, Prometheus is not only a film that marks director Ridley Scott’s long-awaited return to science fiction, but is also one in which the plot is loosely related to Scott’s first sci-fi film, Alien.
One of the ways in which Prometheus relates to the Alien franchise is through the character of Peter Weyland, played by Guy Pearce, who is the CEO of the Weyland Corporation that later becomes the Weyland-Yutani Company we hear about in the Alien films. In a clever viral marketing video for the film, Weyland gives a TED talk in the year 2023 (click here to learn more about TED), which is a few years prior to when Prometheus takes place. The video is a great primer for Prometheus, not to mention total geek sustenance for those familiar with the Alien films. Check it out below!

The final trailer for Disney’s John Carter has hit the web over at Apple today, and it definitely shows us just how big and epic this film promises to be. It is unfortunate, however, that Disney is more focused on selling the epic scope of the film than the plot itself. Those who are unfamiliar with the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel the film is based off of (John Carter of Mars) won’t really get a clear idea what the film is about just by watching the trailers. I am not quite sure why Disney has chosen this route, since it is completely possible to show off visuals and still give us something to hang on to in terms of story. I am all for avoiding spoilers, but I always think it is necessary to reveal some story details in the trailers – at least more than the John Carter trailers have given.
Anyhow, you can check out the final trailer below, which highlights the arena battle we’ve seen in previous trailers (the one that looks identical to the battle in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones).
