Back in December, it was reported here that Bryan Singer will direct X-Men: First Class. Well, now Deadline reports that this is not the case. Singer will now only produce the film, due to his commitment to direct Jack the Giant Killer.

After hearing originally that he was going to direct, I was ecstatic since the X-Men films he directed were quite good. Now that he is only producing, my hopes have kind of died a bit. But since he is still involved in some capacity, this film could still turn out good in the end. I guess it depends on how much he is involved with the story and who they get to direct the film.
