Mike Judge, the creator of the crude yet hilarious animated comedy Beavis and Butt-Head that aired on MTV back in the 90s, is apparently outlining 30 new episodes of the show to possibly bring back to MTV, according to Kenny Herzog from The Examiner.  Read on for more details.

According to the article, no TV network has picked up the show as of yet, and it is not yet set in stone if the show will even happen in the first place. However, it does go on to say that Judge intends to keep the show’s “original ghetto-tech aesthetic” in terms of its look and feel. Even the hilarious music video commentary segments will be back, but with more contemporary music clips for the two lovable fartknockers to make fun of.

Growing up in the 90s, I was practically raised on this show. When I was spending time watching music videos from bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam on MTV (when they still played music videos), along came Beavis and Butt-Head to delight and entertain the masses. I always found that the show contained some of the most hilarious animated material out there, despite how indecent it was at times. It was such a simple concept, but at the same time incredibly ingenious – perhaps ahead of its time, which is why I think it makes total sense that this show could make a comeback.

Like I said, nothing is set in stone at this point in terms of the show’s possible return. However, the article points out that Mike Judge could just make new episodes and post them online in sort of viral video format if no network picks up the show. Judge already kind of did this once with the promotion of his movie Extract.

Update: The New York post has confirmed with MTV sources that new episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head are indeed in the works! However, there is no confirmation of how many episodes there will be. Click here to read the article.
