It was Day 2, and I was extremely excited for the day. Essentially, it was Mark Hamill day for me. I had originally planned on attending “The Sounds of Star Wars” Panel at 10:30 AM with the legendary Ben Burtt, but I ended up walking to the wrong stage. However, it ended up working out for me though, because the stage I walked to was going to have the Mark Hamill panel at 2:30, and the line was just starting to form. Needless to say, I claimed my place in line.

And so it begins. The first day of Star Wars Celebration V, while it did not contain the biggest events of the weekend (Friday and Saturday will be filled with those), it was still quite an eventful day. And just so you know, I do have pictures to show, however I forgot my USB cord for the camera to plug into my laptop, so I will have to update these posts later on in the week with actual photos.

Bounty Hunters

It has been over five years since I attended my first Star Wars Celebration, which was Celebration III in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to that, I had never really considered going to a Star Wars convention before – but it was the year of the last live-action Star Wars film ever to be made, so I figured it was probably going to be quite an event and that I should go. Needless to say, the con exceeded my expectations and I immediately made up my mind that I would be going at least one more time if there were to be any more Celebrations.

I ended up attending Celebration IV in 2007 in Los Angeles on the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, and now I am currently in Orlando, Florida sitting in my hotel room with a friend and my dad, anxiously awaiting the long-anticipated Star Wars Celebration V to celebrate the recent 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.

Remember back in 2008, when Louisiana grad student Brent Budden created a Star Wars Crawl Creator using Flash, in which you could enter any text you wanted and it would generate it into the style of the opening crawl of the Star Wars films? Well, that program became so popular that was taken down not too long after it was created due to copyright issues. However, Lucasfilm saw a great opportunity with the program and decided to create their own version, inspired by Budden’s original work. Read on to find out more!

We all remember vividly what Heath Ledger looks like as The Joker in The Dark Knight with all the white makeup on. However, we only got a brief glimpse of what he looked like without it. Take a look below at this great image from the set of the film with Ledger as The Joker, but with only the scars around his mouth and the greenish-colored hair.

A little while ago, PCM reported that the Season 6 DVD and Blu-ray sets (as well as “The Complete Collection”) for the hit TV show LOST would contain a 12-minute Epilogue of sorts which answers a few questions that were not answered in the TV series. Well, that Epilogue has leaked online! Watch it while you still can (it may be taken down by the powers that be faster than you can say “Dharma”)!

Have you ever asked yourself what it might have been like if Arnold Schwarzenegger was cast to be the voice of Darth Vader? Okay, I haven’t either, but what if he was?!

Well, today /Film posted one of the most hilarious videos I’ve seen in a while that shows us just what exactly that would be like.  Hit the jump to see the “lost” footage of “Darth Schwarzenegger” (Warning – this video contains much foul language and is not meant for kids)!

Roger Corman_Mick Garris

Most B-movie fans are fully aware of the works of legendary filmmaker Roger Corman, particularly his American International Edgar Allen Poe adaptations with Vincent Price like House of Usher and Pit and the Pendulum. Others might know him more as the producer of such films as Piranha (1978) or Death Race. Regardless of how you know of the fellow, it is clear that he knows he way around the B-genre.

So, if you’re like me and you love just listening to Corman talk, you need to check out this five-part interview on FEARnet’s Post Mortem with Mick Garris, which debuted August 2nd. It will also premiere on Video on Demand (VOD) August 9th. A wide variety of interesting topics is covered in the interview so I highly recommend it for genre fans. Check out the official press release after the jump!

PCM’s new friends over at We Got This Covered recently published an article which analyzes various theories and questions regarding the film Inception. While I tend to lean more towards the movie being pretty straightforward, it cannot be denied that there are other ways one could interpret various elements of the film.
