A teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated second season of AMC’s The Walking Dead TV series has made its way online. While it’s not much, it definitely does what a teaser trailer should do, which is to show us very little and still manage to get us excited. Update: The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has reported that this trailer, while cool, is actually fan-made and not an official teaser for the show. Hopefully we’ll get a real trailer soon!

Last year, producers Frank Darabont and Gale Anne Hurd broke new ground with what can be done with a television show with AMC’s post-apocalyptic zombie series The Walking Dead. Even though the first season was only six episodes, it was nevertheless a success, and a second season was inevitable.
Currently in production on Season 2 (this time 13 episodes), AMC has released a fun video featurette briefly documenting the first day of shooting, which you can watch after the jump!

Recently, FEARnet has been releasing various holiday-themed videos featuring the character of “Sam” from Michael Dougherty’s horror anthology film Trick ‘r Treat to promote their “24 Hours of Trick ‘r Treat” event occurring this Halloween on FEARnet HD. They started out with the hilarious (and disturbing) “Half Way to Halloween” Easter video a couple of months ago, and now they have debuted a new twisted, yet sweet Father’s Day vignette to hype up the event. The video is executive produced by Michael Dougherty and directed by Zach Shields, and you can watch it after the jump!

The world of TV programming can be quite challenging, especially ever since The X-Files essentially paved the way for modern television shows by producing a mini-movie every week. It is simply the gold standard for today’s hour-long fiction shows, as modern audiences have now come to experience with LOST, Battlestar Galactica, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Fringe, etc. Anything less just would not make it past TV executives these days; and, even if the quality of the show is great, that does not mean the show will last (as fans of ABC’s V have recently witnessed).
Director Des Doyle’s documentary Showrunners (currentlly in production) dives deeply into the subject of just what it takes to make a quality television show and just how ugly it can get sometimes. It features interviews with many big names in the TV industry, including Damon Lindelof (LOST), Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica), Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman (Fringe). Check out the official synopsis and trailer for the documentary after the jump!

Some of you may have already seen this on TV, but the new TV Spot for J.J. Abrams‘ Super 8 made its way online over at Yahoo! Movies this morning, which shows some new footage but still cleverly manages to reveal very little about the story (that’s a good thing).
In case you are not aware of the concept of the film, it is basically a throwback to Steven Spielberg’s coming-of-age Amblin movies from the 80s like The Goonies and E.T. Check out the new TV spot below!

Last December, PCM posted the first trailer for TNT’s Falling Skies, a new sci-fi alien invasion series executive produced by Steven Spielberg (who else?) about a former college professor (Noah Wyle) who becomes the leader of a group of soldiers and civilians who fight for their survival against an occupying alien force.
A new trailer/featurette has been released that shows us more of the look and feel of the show, and also reveals a bit more about the story and characters. If you ask me, so far it feels very much like AMC’s The Walking Dead, but on a larger scale and, of course, with aliens instead of zombies. You can watch the featurette after the jump!
