The X-Files: Fight the Future

Today may be the start of a new beginning for fans of the extremely successful Fox TV series The X-Files (1993-2002).

Fans all over the world have been waiting and hoping for years now that there just might be hope for a third X-Files theatrical film, even though the second feature, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, wasn’t as successful at the box office as 20th Century Fox had hoped it would be back in 2008 (remind us all again, Fox, why you decided to release it only ONE WEEK after The Dark Knight?!!). All these years later, fans still want closure to the ever popular alien colonization plot from the series.

Ant-Man

In case you missed it during last night’s premiere of Marvel’s Agent Carter, the new teaser trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man has arrived online for all to see!

Surprisingly, this looks pretty cool, however the trailer doesn’t show much of Ant-Man’s abilities. All we see here is his ability to shrink in size and ride a flying ant. In the comics, he’s been known to do much more than that. Will we see his ability to control swarms of insects? Will he become Giant Man in this film? As far as his character becoming one of The Avengers is concerned, he looks pretty weak here by comparison. Fun, for sure, but weak. But I have the feeling that will all change when we see the full movie. Hit the jump!

The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death

Hammer Films’ The Woman in Black was a very surprising throwback to classic gothic horror. Director James Watkins really understood the genre, filling up the big screen with just the right amount of creepy atmosphere and “jump out of your seat” moments. Nothing was overdone. The film hit just the right balance when it came to executing the fright factor, never letting us see too much. The camera work and lighting (or lack thereof) were so well done, that the eye plays tricks on the viewer when watching, often making us see eerie spectres that aren’t even there. The film simply had a great look to it, as well as a compelling story.
