In the latest featurette for Man of Steel (via Sears), director Zack Snyder, writer David S. Goyer, and other select members of the cast and crew of the film discuss the idea of re-imagining the character of Superman to create a story where it feels like the character could really exist in our modern-day world – an idea not too dissimilar from Goyer’s work on The Dark Knight Trilogy with Christopher Nolan, who also co-produced Man of Steel. Hit the jump to check out some new footage and learn more about their approach to the film, and to take a peek at a bit of new footage!

Synopsis:

A child sent to Earth from a dying planet is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.
