WRB.com (World Robot Boxing), a viral website for the upcoming movie Real Steel, went live yesterday. As a part of the Dreamworks marketing campaign, the site requires secret codes to unlock its hidden special features.

Thanks to Genre Addict, those of us who don’t want to go through all of that don’t have to, as they have unlocked the features and posted them on their site for our viewing pleasure. They showcase a couple of extremely brief, but pretty cool video clips of robots from the movie, which you can view here after the jump!

Official Plot Synopsis:

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near future [the year 2020], where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring.  Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next.  When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Goyo) to build and train a championship contender.  As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Noisy Boy Uncovered:

The Mighty Zeus:

While these clips are probably not as cool as the teaser trailer, it is still great to see any new footage from the film.

For those of you thinking this will be just another Transformers-type movie, think again. Essentially, it has been said that this is more of a Rocky story set in the future, with robots as the backdrop. Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) will apparently be the true focus of this movie.

Real Steel, directed by Shawn Levy, stars Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly and Dakota Goyo, and will be released in theaters nationwide October 7, 2011!
