The teaser trailer for Raja Gosnell‘s live-action/CGI movie rendition of the 1980s cartoon series The Smurfs has just hit the web over at Yahoo! Movies. If you’re a child of the 80s like I am, you’re going to want to watch this. Hit the jump, and prepare to get SMURF’d!

Official Plot Synopsis:

In the 3D August 3, 2011 release, the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village and they tumble from their magical world into ours – in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

Sure, the trailer is very, very cliché, but I don’t care. It’s a kids movie, and I’ll at least give it a shot and try to channel my inner child.

The Smurfs stars Jayma Mays, Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry, Sofía Vergara, Anton Yelchin and Hank Azaria. The movie hits theaters nationwide August 3, 2011 in 3D.
