Steve Sansweet, head of Star Wars Fan Relations, has officially revealed during the “Star Wars Spectacular” at Comic-Con that the Star Wars Celebration V Convention will be held in 2010!! Read on for more details.
However, we do not have an official location or date yet. Word on the street is that Chicago, IL is a prime target, and Indianapolis, IN is also a possibility. But then again, anything’s possible so we’ll just have to wait until Mr. Steve Sansweet elaborates on the details.
This will put the fifth Celebration around the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. So far, there have been four Star Wars Celebration Conventions in the U.S., as well as one in Europe and Japan. The first three U.S. Conventions celebrated the release of the prequels in 1999, 2002 and 2005, and the fourth was in 2007 on the 30th Anniversary of the original Star Wars. I expect that if there is a Celebration VI, that it will land in the U.S. in 2013 on the 30th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi.
I went to the last two in Indianapolis, IN and Los Angeles, CA and I have to say I have many, many fond memories of meeting the stars of the films, seeing exclusive new digital footage (at the time) of Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars, waiting in line with fans in the wee hours of the morning in the cold rain to see George Lucas, etc. If you are a fan of Star Wars, this is the place to be. I expect the date and location will be revealed very soon.
Coverage of the “Star Wars Spectacular” at Comic-Con will air on the G4 Network on July 25th at 2:00 PM EST, followed by general G4 Comic-Con coverage at 4:00 PM EST. It will repeat at 10:00 PM same day.

I just heard about the Celebration “V” convention for “Star Wars”. If I may get any kind of info. on the convention I would deeply appreciate your time and effort in giving me any kind of information. My old employer used to be sales reps. for “Star Wars”,and I have had much love for “Darth vader”. Plus my 11 year old grandson is following my traits for “Star Wars” and I would love to take him.

I would like to know when there is a Star Wars convention/celebration in or near Michigan. I have an 8 year old son who really wants to go, he is the biggest Star Wars fan. He has watched all of the movies and he wants to see Star Wars in action.

My son insists that I take him to Orlando, Florida for the Star Wars celebration August 12-15. However, that is not something I can afford at this current time. So please, oh please bring a Star Wars celebration to or near Michigan.

i now live in boise idaho but less than a year ago i lived in california and now im just hoping that a star wars celebration comes to boise. If not boise somewhere not more than 1200 miles hopefully.

I think i would maybe drive that far or buy a plane ticket for 250 to 300 dollars but it would take so much for anyboy to get to the celebration. Plus i heard that in 2013 there will be a star wars convention coming to boise im not sure if its the awesome star wars celebration 6 though man i would love that.Anyways im trying to find info on the con-news-official-website. And oh yeah i almost forgot the event probabl is star wars celebration 6 because its the 30th anniversary of reurn of the jedi or revenge of the jedi if anyone likes to call it that. just leting some people know early so they will save up there cash and be prepared for the next star wars celebration.

Don’t hold tour breath on C6 being any where near Michigan or out on the West Coast. I worked C5 and I have been told that C6 will be again in Orlando Florida due to the fact that there are so many other things happening around the area such as Disney Star Wars weekends.
Sorry guys, start saving now and get ready to come to Florida.

C6 will be Return of the Jedi themed.
They had to sign a 2 deal with the convention center to have it here in Florida.

Good to know! I think I heard that from someone as well, and to be honest I think Florida was the best location yet. However, I REALLY hope it’s not in August. It was like 1000ºF down there! Perhaps April or May 2013?

Well, Celebration “IV” was in Los Angeles in 2007… okay, I know you meant VI.
Not sure yet where VI will be held.

I wish I knew.
Back in 2007, they had “Star Wars Celebration Europe,” but they haven’t had another European “Celebration” convention since. Not sure if there are any other kind of Star Wars conventions occurring in the UK.
