According to The Insider, it appears that the next Indiana Jones film will start filming some time next year, with a theatrical release date for the film set for 2011. It does appear that this is actually moving forward, and that Harrison Ford is set to reprise the role as the man in the hat. [Insider article has been debunked. See Update after the jump]
Like I said last week, I am open to a fifth Indiana Jones. I just hope this time table is accurate, as Ford is not getting any younger. I’m still not holding my breath until Spielberg, Lucas or Ford confirm it though. Producer Frank Marshall’s Twitter update and interview with Empire Online from last week seems to be the biggest credible tidbit we’ve gotten that they’re working on it, but I want confirmation from the horse’s mouth about an actual filming schedule and release date. Come on Spielberg, speak up!

“That story is not accurate” and the”…” used as well tells me five things
1. Indiana Jones V is Mutt Williams I, AAH!
2. Indiana Jones V is a prequel to the other 4, without Harrison Ford
3. Indiana Jones V won’t be out in 2011, maybe 2012
4. Indiana Jones V won’t happen
and finally
5. Indiana Jones V is going to be out in 2011, and there trying to throw us off
2, 3, and 5 are interesting idea’s but I hope it will happen with Ford at the helm, in 2011, with Indy as the main character
I hope the plot is “it’s 1954. The Nazis have been quiet for years now, but are finally on the track of the Philosopher’s Stone, a mystical artifact that could bring Hitler back to life. It’s up to Dr. Indiana Jones to stop the Nazis and to stop the beginning of World War III.

Cool theories. I personally wouldn’t mind a prequel, but still with Harrison Ford – kind of like what Temple of Doom was to Raiders. It’s either that, or something after where we get to at least see Marion and Mutt one more time.
