It was reported back in May that Carl Rinsch, a director of music videos and commercials for Scott Free Productions, was hired by Fox to direct a remake of Ridley Scott’s Alien film. Well, all that has turned around. Ridley Scott, the director of the original Alien film will direct its prequel!

The “Star Wars Spectacular” was quite, well, spectacular at Comic-Con this past Friday. I was not there, but the G4 network gave me the next best thing by broadcasting it on TV the next day! Everything from the upcoming Star Wars in Concert, to the next season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In fact, the new trailer for the hit series on Cartoon Network is now online at StarWars.com! Due to the amazing response that the XF3 Army “I Want to Believe” Operation has gotten, they have extended this second phase of the campaign for another week (until August 2nd) by request. Apparently many X-Philes still want to participate but are just waiting for their paychecks to clear.

At the Book of Eli panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Gary Oldman (who played Commissioner Gordon in the last two Batman films) had this to say about the next Batman movie:
“I think the next Batman is next year…“We start shooting next year. You didn’t hear that from me.”

Leonardo DiCaprio and his film company, Appian Way, has been developing a new “Twilight Zone” movie for the last year or so. Recently, they hired screen writer Rand Ravich (The Astronaut’s Wife) for the film. Currently, it appears Warner Brothers will distribute the movie based on the popular TV show of the same name.
