A Long Time Ago, in a theater not so far away…

…a certain movie was finally being released that had been anticipated for 16 years. It was the most anticipated film of all time. Yes, of course I’m referring to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. May 19, 2009 marks the 10th Anniversary!

I found this on /Film, but it actually comes from CollegeHumor.com. It’s a video montage comparing the new Star Trek film to the original Star Wars, basically showing how similar the stories are. I loved it, because I grow very tired of people not liking a film for the sole reason that the story isn’t original.

It seems like this film is getting a lot of crap from a lot of critics out there. Now, while I don’t feel like this is the greatest film it could have been, I really walked out of the theater surprised. I liked more than I thought I was going to. About a week ago, I posted an article about the trailer for the fan film “The Hunt For Gollum.” Once again, here’s the official summary:

“Inspired by notes in the appendices from Tolkien’s ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘The Hunt For Gollum’ follows Aragon as he sets out to find the creature Gollum and discover the truth about the Ring…”

The trailer looked really exciting. I have not watched the film yet, but I am highly looking forward to this. Apparently, it was filmed for only $3,000! Amazing! Head on over to TheHuntForGollum.com to watch the entire fan film in HD!
