Currently, Carl Rinsch is now attached to direct the film, according to imdb.com. I have never seen his movies, so I don't know have any idea of his directing style.

I do know that Gary Ross, the writer of the new "Creature" movie has some good writing credits behind him - including "Big," "Pleasantville," "Dave" and "Seabiscuit." He's never written a horror/adventure movie before though, so we'll see what happens.

Creature from the Black Lagoon is my all time favorite movie. I really hope they don't destroy this like many remakes often do.
