It is official. Breck Eisner has left the director’s chair for the Creature From the Black Lagoon remake. He is currently finishing up his film The Crazies and is attached to the Flash Gordon reboot, but it is unclear thus far why he has left Creature. Gary Ross, writer and producer of the film is still developing it, and Universal Pictures and Strike Entertainment are now searching for a new director.

Michael Bay is great. I love his “take no crap from anyone” attitude.
In case you’re not aware, Michael Bay gets a lot of crap from whiny internet hate mongers. I may be on the net, but I am not one of those whiny people that hate his movies. I love Bay’s movies for the most part. They’re entertaining, have great characters and and have fun stories overall. He generally makes summer popcorn flicks. There is nothing wrong with that.

In the previous installment of the Terminator franchise, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, we found out that the deeds of Sarah and John Connor that were accomplished in T2 did not stop Judgement Day but rather postponed it. Judgement Day was inevitable, and we saw Skynet become self-aware and begin destroying the planet. The moment this was shown to us is the moment that decided the fate of future Terminator movies. We were now at war with the machines. The future had begun, and we could finally have something totally different for the franchise.
