MichaelBay.com has posted new footage from ShoWest, a motion picture industry convention. This footage is out of this world. The main scene featured is a scene with Sam and Bumblebee discussing how he has to go away for college and can’t take Bumblebee with him. And, of course, with this being a Michael Bay film it has to show off Megan Fox (you’ll see what I mean when you watch the footage). The rest is just super cool footage of the Transformers in action. Great stuff! Check out the video by clicking “Read more” below.

Previously, it was reported that Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson were making two Hobbit films (debuting in 2011 and 2012), the first one focusing on the actual book and the other bridging the 60-year gap between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring.

Now, in an interview with Empire Magazine, Jackson and Del Toro have revealed that their plan is now to officially span The Hobbit over the two films, taking more time to flesh out The Hobbit. They had this to say:

“We’ve decided to have The Hobbit span the two movies, including the White Council and the comings and goings of Gandalf to Dol Guldur,” says Del Toro.

Below is footage that debuted during American Idol last Tuesday from Quentin Tarantino’s new film Inglourious Basterds coming out August 21st. Apparently this footage (courtesy of FirstShowing.Net) shows a bit more than what was actually aired on Idol, so check it out after the jump!

It’s here. The fourth (and likely final) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer has arrived! This movie just looks better and better with each new trailer. This almost looks as epic as The Lord of the Rings trilogy in some spots. I am now looking forward to this movie more than I was before. July cannot come soon enough!

ComingSoon.Net is reporting that Screenwriter/actor Kevin Grevioux and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans director Patrick Tatopoulos will be bringing the comic-books series I, Frankenstein to the big screen. It’ll be produced by  Robert Sanchez and Chris Patton for Death Ray Films and the project’s associate producer and co-developer will be ShockTillYouDrop’s managing editor Ryan Turek.

I’ve never heard of this comic-book series (apparently it’s not even out yet as a comic), but the description has it sounding like sort of a dark film-noir with the Frankenstein Monster functioning to the point where he is a private investigator in a city called “Darkhaven,” and this place includes other famous “monsters” like the Invisible Man, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde and Dracula (as a crime kingpin!)

On the MTV Movies Blog, Michael Bay is quoted as saying that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will clock in four minutues longer than the first movie, which means that it will be 147 mintues (or 2 hours and 27 minutes) long!

Bay also added a little awesome comment about how movie studio execs seem to be obsessed with running times for films:

Bumblebee

This summer is yet another great one to look forward to. While we’ve been subject to movies with not a lot of hype like Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Knowing, Mall Cop, etc., and movies with a lot of hype but not much of a response from the movie-going public such as Race to Witch Mountain and Watchmen, I’ve been desperate to see movies that will obviously satisfy my fanboy cravings. That satisfaction usually comes from the Summer blockbuster season. Not to say that the movies that have come out so far have been bad, but let’s be honest – the summer is bringing the movies we really want to see.

So here are my top 10 movies I am dying to see this summer:

A cool little, but very clever promo for FOX’s TV show Fringe occurred during American Idol tonight (yes, I admit I’ve been watching American Idol this season).

It Came From Outer Space!!! Along with movies like The Day the Earth Stood Still and War of the Worlds (the original films from the 50s), It Came From Outer Space was another one of R.W. Goodwin’s inspirations for his new movie Alien Trespass (currently in limited release).

This movie along with many other 50s sci-fi films appear cheesy by today’s standards, but were top quality back when they were released. The filmmakers of these movies took them seriously, which is how R.W. Goodwin (former X-Files episode director) approached Alien Trespass. He wanted the feel of those old movies, but not to come off like a spoof or remake.
