Alex Billington of FirstShowing.Net went to an advanced screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine reporting that the director, Gavin Hood stepped out to introduce the film. In his talk, he claimed that there will be multiple secret endings attached to different prints and theaters will be showing different versions! /Film claims that these “easter egg” endings will follow the end credits.

A new Lord of the Rings fan film is coming called The Hunt for Gollum, according to EW.  It appears that it will be a 40-minute short film that takes place between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. Sci-Fi London describes the plot as follows:

“Inspired by notes in the appendices from Tolkien’s ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘The Hunt For Gollum’ follows Aragon as he sets out to find the creature Gollum and discover the truth about the Ring…”

It was rumored a few months ago that Robert Rodriguez (director of such films as The Faculty, Sin City and Planet Terror) is rebooting the Predator franchise and calling it Predators. Well, IESB.Net is reporting that this has been confirmed at a press conference in Austin, Texas. Not only is Rodriguez slated to produce, but also to direct [see Update below]. The Mirage Group, the company who owns the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles property (happy 25th anniversary, by the way!), has announced that they are moving forward with a new live-action reboot of the franchise set to be released in 2011! It will focus on the origins of the Turtles and will “remain true to the spirit of the original comicbooks,” says Peter Laird, one of the creators of the comics. He also added that the movie “may employ face replacement technology, which would allow the turtles to be much more expressive,” implying that the characters may not be entirely digital creations.

Details have been vague in the past about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role in Terminator Salvation. We knew he had something to do with the film, but it was unclear if he would actually appear in the film.  With his busy schedule as Governor of California, it did not look likely that he would even have the time. Well apparently, he will in fact be in Terminator Salvation – but without any camera filming new scenes with him.

Variety is reporting that his likeness will be used from the first Terminator film and re-created digitally for the film:

“9″ is a new CG animated film coming out on 9/9/09 (funny, huh?) in limited release. It’s based on Shane Acker’s short film of the same name. It was actually nominated for Best Short Film at the Academy Awards. The MTV Movies blog description of the movie is as follows:

‘9′ follows nine ragdolls on a quest to save humanity in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
